Xfinity customer service and complaints

Comcast's broadband, TV and mobile brand

Provisional entry Checked 2 Nov 2026 Comcast Cable Communications, LLC

Xfinity is Comcast's consumer brand for cable broadband, TV, home phone and mobile. Support runs 24/7 by phone, chat and the Xfinity app, and the company publishes a separate formal complaint route for issues that front-line support cannot fix.

Step two

How to complain about Xfinity

Work through the stages in order. Each one creates the paper trail the next stage needs.

  1. 1

    Stage 1

File a formal complaint with Xfinity

    Straight away

Contact Xfinity and ask for the issue to be logged as a formal complaint. Get the complaint or ticket number, and ask what outcome the agent can authorise.

Use the phone, chat or online complaint form on this page.

Ask for a supervisor or the loyalty/retention team if the first-line agent cannot approve a credit.

  2. 2

    Stage 2

Send a written summary and set a deadline

    Allow 7–14 days

Email or use the provider's complaint form. Summarise the facts, the amount in dispute and the remedy you want. Give a clear deadline for a response.

Attach bills, screenshots and a simple timeline.

Written complaints are easier to attach to a PUC or FCC filing later.

  3. 3

    Stage 3

Escalate to your state public utility commission

After the provider has had a chance to respond

Your state PUC handles complaints about telecom service, billing and safety. Many accept complaints online and require the provider to respond.

Find your state commission and file a consumer complaint with your evidence.

Ask the PUC whether your issue is within its jurisdiction; broadband-only services are handled differently in some states.

  4. 4

    Stage 4

    File an FCC informal complaint

Any time, but sooner is better

The FCC accepts informal complaints about phone, internet and cable service. The provider must respond, and the FCC can use patterns of complaints in investigations.

Use the FCC Consumer Complaints Center and include your provider reference number.

The FCC does not award damages. Use it alongside, not instead of, the PUC or small claims.

  5. 5

    Stage 5

    Consider small claims court

Check your state's statute of limitations

If you have a documented monetary loss and the provider will not pay, small claims court can be faster than regulation. The filing limit varies by state.

Gather bills, receipts, screenshots and a written demand letter.

Send a final demand letter before filing; it often prompts a settlement.

Dear Complaints Team,

I am writing to make a formal complaint about my [internet / phone / TV] service.

What happened

[Explain the issue and give dates. Include what you were promised, what went wrong, and any reference numbers from previous contacts.]

What I want

[State the resolution you want: account credit, refund, repair, cancellation without an early-termination fee, or a written explanation.]

Please respond in writing by [date]. If the issue is not resolved, I intend to file a complaint with my state public utility commission and the FCC, and to consider small claims court.

Sincerely,

[Your name]

Send it by a method you can prove — email with read receipt, or tracked post — and keep the reference number.

If it is not fixed

Escalate to the regulator

Use these routes only after the provider has had a fair chance to respond, or if they have breached a published deadline.

Questions

Xfinity FAQ

How do I cancel Xfinity without an early-termination fee?

Check whether you are still inside a term agreement. If you are, Xfinity can charge an early-termination fee, so ask for the exact amount in writing before you cancel. If a documented service failure is unresolved, ask for a waiver as part of a formal complaint.

Does Xfinity have a corporate email for complaints?

Xfinity does not publish a general executive email address. Use the formal complaint form, keep the reference number, and escalate to your state public utility commission or the FCC if the issue remains unresolved.

Does the FCC give individual customers compensation?

No. The FCC's informal complaint process forwards your complaint to the provider and requires a response, but it does not award money to individuals. For compensation, use the provider, your state PUC, small claims court or a consumer-protection agency.

What can my state public utility commission do?

State PUCs vary widely. Many accept consumer complaints, require the company to respond, and can investigate patterns of poor service or unlawful billing. They generally do not resolve private contract disputes or award damages.

Can the FCC make my provider refund me?

No. The FCC forwards an informal complaint and requires a response, but it does not award money. For a refund, use the provider, your state commission or small claims court.
