The Hustler Fund is a digital financial inclusion initiative designed to improve financial access to responsible finance for personal, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Kenya.

Hustler Fund Requirements

1. Must be a Kenyan citizen of 18 years of age and above
2. Must have a valid national Identification Card (ID)
3. Must have a registered mobile number from a recognized Mobile Network Operator in Kenya i.e., either Airtel, Safaricom or Telkom i.e., either Airtel, Safaricom or Telkom
4. Have a mobile money account i.e., either Airtel Money/M-PESA/T-Kash
5. The SIM card in question can/ will only be eligible if it has been used for over 90 days.
6. Reside and conduct economic activities in Kenya.
7. Provide the Location of residence during the onboarding process (where applicable)

How to Apply for Hustler Fund

1. Sign up for the Hustler Fund platform by dialling *254# or through the mobile app.
2. Accept the Terms and Conditions to join the Fund
3. Enter Mobile Money Pin
4. After steps 1-3 are fulfilled, an SMS will be sent to notify them of their successful registration and the limit assignment.
5. In the event of a failed registration, the borrower will be notified via SMS

Interest Rate on Hustler Fund Loan

The annual Rate of Interest is 8% calculated per day with a 14-day repayment period and an annual interest rate of eight per cents calculated per day, a customer who borrows Ksh 500 will pay back Ksh 501.53 after 14 days, representing Ksh 1.53 in interest.

Hustler Fund Repayment Conditions

1. If the loan is not paid back within 14 days, the customer’s credit rating is affected, and they are given an additional 15 days. If the loan is still unpaid, the interest rate increases to 9.5% per year.
2. The Hustler Fund account is frozen and the borrower loses all accumulated credit scores after more than 30 days of default.
3. In case you default on the Hustler fund loan, there will be CRB blacklisting, hence the credit rating with other creditors will not be affected.
